Bridget Akinc is the CEO of Building Impact, a Boston-based non-profit dedicated to strengthening communities. Since 2004, Building Impact has been providing individuals and companies with the knowledge and opportunities to volunteer, donate, and connect with non-profits in the communities where they work or live.
Bridget joined Building Impact in January 2017 after having spent three years teaching entrepreneurial marketing for students at Boston College and MIT. At Boston College, Bridget had the opportunity to serve on the board of the Lynch Leadership Academy, and as a faculty sponsor for a new minor in Managing for Social Impact.
Prior to entering academia, Akinc led teams focused on technology enablement and go-to-market strategy, for high-growth Silicon-Valley based software companies like BEA Systems, and for non-profits like The New Teacher Project. Akinc began her business career as a consultant in the information technology practice at the Boston Consulting Group, and has maintained a strong connection to education, ever since her days of earning her teaching certification in the state of New Jersey.
Bridget earned an undergraduate degree in education policy at the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University in 1998, and a graduate degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management in 2013.
