R.E.Action 2010 Volunteers Help Renovate The New England Center for Homeless Veterans

On Saturday, 1.30.10, 25 volunteers and 4 Building Impact staff braved frigid cold and headed into downtown Boston to help renovate the New England Center for Homeless Veterans.  One of the most highly-regarded veterans' transition centers in the country, NECHV is located in a historic building in the heart of downtown.  The 100-year-old, 152,000 sq. ft. building needs lots of upkeep, due to both its age and the number of clients it serves.  On Saturday we helped them keep the place looking great by applying coats of paint to walls and trim on 5 different floors.  Many thanks to Southeastern Painting Co. for donating the supplies.

This event was one of the first in Building Impact's new campaign R.E.Action 2010: The Real Estate Industry Year of Community Service. All in all, the volunteers donated 72.5 hours of their time, proving that when the real estate industry comes together, it can make a significant impact. Let's keep the momentum going!
