Health Imperatives is seeking a part-time volunteer or an undergraduate intern for our Healthy Families program located in Weymouth, MA. Healthy Families is a home-based family support and coaching program that supports young, first-time parents and helps them create stable, nurturing environments for their children. Home visitors teach parents about proper baby care, promote nurturing and attachment, practice effective parenting skills, and ensure parents have a solid understanding of healthy child development. Our home visitors encourage and counsel parents on achieving their personal goals such as going back to school or securing employment.
Healthy Families is seeking a volunteer or intern applicant that is interested in early intervention, social work, human services, or a related field, and would be able to support the program staff with administrative tasks, soliciting and organizing donations, compiling resources for families, and other tasks as needed. The volunteer/intern would be asked to dedicate 12-14 hours/week to the position, and a total length of 3 to 6 months. This person would be welcome to shadow visits with home visitors in order to gain first-hand experience with the Healthy Families services in the community.
